Remembrance service moved for MetroBus
This year’s Remembrance Sunday service will be held away from the Cenotaph due to roadworks for the new MetroBus route.
The event on November 13 will now take place in Queen Square following the usual parade through the city centre.
Due to ongoing redevelopment work around the city centre to coincide with the introduction of the MetroBus, plans were initially made to move the service to the gates of the Memorial Ground in Horfield.

But following talks between Bristol Rovers, the council and representatives of the Armed Forces, a decision was made to opt for Queen Square instead.
Jeff Lovell, Lord Mayor of Bristol, thanked the club for its support but said the council had decided against the move. He added: “This means that the parade and service will continue its association with the City Centre following almost exactly the same route and itinerary as previous events.”
The council will release further details of the parade route, timings, road closures and itinerary closer to the time.
