On Sunday lunchtime, the specials (all costing £5) were scallops with seaweed butter, pan-seared hake with caramelised lemon, and Falmouth mussels in white wine and garlic.
Among the drinks are a trio of English wines: the Nyetimber Classic Cuvee sparkling wine from West Sussex, and a Three Choirs white and rose from the Forest of Dean. There is also beer on tap and in bottles from Bristol Beer Factory, and cider from Ashton Press.
This is the second Salt & Malt following the original site overlooking Chew Valley Lake.
Taking up five converted shipping containers on the ground floor of Cargo 2, with poles inside wrapped in ropes, it can seat 35 diners inside and a further 35 on its outdoor terrace.
