Shadowing nominated as a Design of the Year
Shadowing, the winner of the Watershed’s Playable City Award last year, has just been nominated as one of the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year in the digital category.
The project, which is currently enjoying a second lease of life in Austin, Texas, saw memory given to a select number of Bristol’s street lights, enabling them to record and play back the shadows of those who passed underneath.
Now in its eighth year, Designs of the Year “celebrates design that promotes or delivers change, enables access, extends design practice or captures the spirit of the year”.
is needed now More than ever
All nominated designs will feature in an exhibition starting next month at the London museum.
Shadowing is up against other projects which include a visualisation of how our data is captured, responsive street furniture, an interactive map of the history of migration and a set of measuring tools for 3D modelling.
