Shaun in the City exhibition to be ticketed
A bumper exhibition including all 120 Shaun in the City sheep will be ticketed in a bid to avoid the huge queues seen at the Gromit Unleashed event two years ago.
The Great Sheep Round Up, which will include all statues from the Bristol and London trails, will take place from September 12-20 at Cribbs Causeway, with tickets starting at £4.50.
A new ticketing scheme with timed entries will be used to avoid congestion which saw people from around the world queuing for hours, and on some occasions missing the show, at the former Habitat store on the Clifton Triangle in 2013.
The exhibition had to be extended for an extra day so fans had more time to see the sculptures.
This year, adult tickets (aged 18 and over) will cost £7.00, child tickets will cost £4.50 and children aged three years and under will be able to enter for free.
The fees are a step up from 2013, which saw adult entry priced at £4, children from 12-18 at £2 and children under 11 enter for free.
There will also be senior citizen tickets available this year for £5.50. As with last time around, all proceeds from the ticket sales will go to The Grand Appeal.
To manage the popularity of the event, people will only be able to order up to six tickets in one transaction, with no more than one booking per person. Tickets will be non-transferable and non-refundable.
The exhibition will be open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 5:30pm on Sunday.
The sheep sculptures will then be auctioned later this year, with proceeds from the sale of the Bristol sculptures going towards Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity. The funds raised by the London sculptures will benefit Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity, which supports children in hospital all over the UK.
Tickets can be booked as of 1pm on Tuesday, August 18 from www.shauninthecity.org.uk/exhibition.
