Social Media Week Bristol returns in June 2019

By Ellie Pipe  Thursday Mar 14, 2019

The global Social Media Week conference returns to Bristol this summer, and this year’s theme will focus on ‘stories’.

“With great influence comes great responsibility,” say organisers of the four-day event, which will examine the role of content creators, journalists, marketers, technologists and the importance of being truthful in all communication.

Bristol is once again the only UK city outside of London to host the conference, which takes place in 25 cities across the world.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

It will run from June 10 to 14 2019 and is set to feature a curated stream of inspirational events, talks and seminars.

Social Media Week Bristol 2019 will focus on a theme of ‘stories’

The Bristol event provides a global collaborative platform to showcase the South West’s expertise, as well as providing grass roots opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and engagement with the wider business community.

Held previously in 2016 and 2018, the week has included keynotes from Facebook, Buzzfeed, Twitter, Glassdoor and Yahoo, as well as a host of local speakers, including Bristol24/7 Editor Martin Booth.

Organisers promise events tailored to businesses and professionals who want to further their understanding of emerging technology, mobile and social media, as well as sessions dedicated to those who are already at the cutting-edge of new trends.

Events will be tailored to meet individual business needs

The event will include seminars, talks and workshops

The full event programme will be announced in April and tickets will go on sale soon after. If you would like to be alerted when the schedule is live, please visit www.smwbristol.co.uk to register.
