Social Media Week to return to Bristol in 2018

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Dec 6, 2017

The 2018 edition of Social Media Week Bristol promises inspirational events, talks and seminars.

Bristol is one of 25 cities across the world and the only UK city outside London to host a Social Media Week, which returns in 2018 from February 26 to March 2.

Highlights of the inaugural Social Media Week in 2016 included BuzzFeed joining forces with Bristol24/7 for a keynote event at the Everyman Cinema, and other events including representatives from Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo.

A Social Media Week Bristol spokeswoman said: “Presented by Business West, Bristol Media and Destination Bristol, Social Media Week Bristol provides a global collaborative and innovative platform to showcase the South West’s expertise as well as providing grass roots opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and engagement with the wider business community.

“The event will bring together key players that contribute to that knowledge and also seek to facilitate collaboration with businesses and enterprises that have yet to fully realise the potential of social media.

“It has events tailored to businesses and professionals who want to further their understanding of emerging technology, mobile and social media and sessions dedicated to those who are already at the cutting edge of new trends.”

The Social Media Week Bristol 2018 programme will be announced in the first week of January and tickets will go on sale soon after. For more information, visit www.smwbristol.co.uk.
