St Nick’s named one of UK’s best markets
St Nick’s Market has been named one of Britain’s best at the Great British Market Awards.
The awards ceremony in Birmingham saw markets battle it out to be crowned victorious by the National Association of British Market Authorities.
St Nick’s, the winner of the Best Large Indoor Market category, was praised for its partnership work with schools and the council including its annual Young Enterprise market, as well as its excellent expanding food outlets and support for the Bristol Pound.

Markets and estate manager for Bristol City Council, Stacy Bartlett, said: “We are really proud to have won this award as recognition of the hard work and dedication of all of our traders and markets team.”
The permanent indoor market buildings and outdoor stalls are home to the largest collection of independent retailers in the city offering a wide range of crafts, giftware and food.
Mayor George Ferguson added: “I am a strong proponent of street and covered markets and continue to encourage them as part of a healthy local retail mix.”
