Staple Hill park gets huge regeneration grant
Page Park in Staple Hill has been awarded £1.6 million for an ambitious regeneration scheme to restore and improve the space for local people.
The grant from the Heritage and Big Lottery Funds compliments an additional £500,000 of funding from South Gloucestershire Council, The Friends of Page Park, Cory Environmental Fund and SITA, and will set plans in motion to enhance facilities at the 106-year-old park from Spring of this year.
The money, which comes as part of a £32 million funding announcement for parks and cemeteries across the UK, will be used to improve access and signage around the park as well as providing a new combined café and community building to act as a hub for the park and local community.

There will also be improvements to the play equipment, restoration of walls, gates and railings and other heritage features, resurfacing of paths around the park, additional planting and the refurbishment of the clock tower’s clock mechanism and bell.
Plans for a three year programme of activities are also in place, aiming to engage people from the local area in learning about and celebrating the history of Staple Hill and the park itself.
