Stokes Croft murder: two in court
Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering Jamel Powell in Stokes Croft.
The 37-year-old, also known as Jama, died from multiple stab wounds following an altercation at Blue Mountain in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Ian Power, 39, of no fixed abode, and 55-year-old Errol Anderson, of Two Mile Hill Road, were both charged with murder.

The two appeared in separate hearings at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and spoke only to confirm their name, address and nationalities.
Both Power and Anderson were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Bristol Crown Court via video link on Thursday, January 4.

The victim’s brothers Rafiki Powell, 30, of Wells Road, and Meikel Powell, 29, of Webb Street, Easton, also appeared before magistrates in separate cases. They were charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with the altercation outside the nightclub shortly after 3am.
Both brothers were remanded in custody and are expected in crown court in February.
