Double shooting in Fishponds

By Louis Emanuel  Wednesday Dec 16, 2015

Two men have been taken injured with gunshot wounds in Fishponds following an attack in the early hours of the morning.

Police cordoned off part of The Greenway near Hillfields Park on Wedneday morning and are appealing for witnesses.

One of the two men, who are aged 44 and 45, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries to the chest. The other’s injuries, to his arm, are thought to be less serious.

“At this stage, we do not know what type of weapon has been used and no arrests have been made,” Avon and Somerset police said.

South West Ambulance Service said they were called to The Greenway by police at 1.07am where they found two injured men, one of whom was rushed to hospital.

Superintendent Rhys Hughes said a “robust” investigation has been launched and patrols have been increased in the area.

He added: “I would urge anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward now. Any information, regardless of how insignificant you may think it is, might prove crucial to this investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers, where information can be left anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
