Team behind Wriggle launch virtual high street
The team behind Wriggle is launching a virtual high street of locally made products sold by Bristol stores.
Squiggle will let customers purchase from a range of the city’s shops, producers, designers and artists at once, with purchases delivered weekly on a Friday.
The virtual shopping platform is the latest offering from the team behind food and drink app, which launched the Bristol Pantry in 2020.
is needed now More than ever
Squiggle aims to make it easy for people living in the city to support local stores by only selling products made and sold in Bristol while supporting local businesses: all money spent on Squiggle, other than fees to the payment provider, goes to a shop, producer, or enterprise.
More than 50 businesses have signed up to the platform, which has launched just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“In the first lockdown, the team at Wriggle created Bristol Pantry to help people do all their food & drink shopping from local producer,” says Squiggle founder Rob Hall.
“Squiggle applies the same thinking to local non-food and drink products; whether it’s flowers, plants, arts, books, toys/games or clothes – we want to capture the creative essence of Bristol, which is full of fantastic shops and makers.”

Storysmith, Pirrip Press, Stokes Croft China and Toyville are among the local businesses to have already signed up to the platform, as well as one-person producers, creators and artists.
Sales will close each week on a Wednesday at 4pm, so the Squiggle team can notify shops and producers, they can deliver their good to the depot in Old Market, and the team can deliver across the city on a Friday.
