Temple Meads ranked one of worst stations in UK for punctuality

Almost six out of every ten trains at Bristol Temple Meads have run late or were cancelled since the beginning of this year.

It makes Brunel’s historic station the fourth worst in the UK for punctuality according to a new study from Which?

To find the stations with the most delayed or cancelled services, Which? used data from rail-performance tracking site On Time Trains.

Bristol Temple Meads is the fourth worst station in the UK for punctuality according to a new study from Which?

Here is the top 20, with the percentage showing how many departures and arrivals were cancelled or at least one minute late:

1. Manchester Oxford Road 68%

2. York 65%

3.= Gatwick Airport 60%
3.= Birmingham New Street 60%

4. Bristol Temple Meads 58%

5. Manchester Piccadilly 56%

6.= Sheffield 54%
6.= Clapham Junction 54%

7. Manchester Victoria 51%

8. Woking 50%

9. Liverpool Central 49%

10. Liverpool Lime Street 47%

11. Reading 46%

12.= London King’s Cross 45%
12.= Cambridge 45%
12.= Leeds 45%

13. London Victoria 44%

14. Guildford 43%

15. Edinburgh 42%

15. Stratford (London) 41%

17.= London Bridge 40%
17.= Cardiff Central 40%

18.= Glasgow Queen Street 39%
18.= London Waterloo 39%

19. London Paddington 38%

20. Glasgow Central 34%

Work is currently underway at Temple Meads to create two new entrances with the aim to allow for faster and easier access into and out of the station.

Currently, 11.3m passengers pass through the station each year, with that number estimated to rise in the coming years.
