Tesla driven through shop window

By Martin Booth  Monday Apr 4, 2022

An elderly woman cannot remember anything about driving a Tesla through the front door of a shop and ending up among items of luxury furniture.

The woman is believed not to have sustained any injuries following the accident but was taken to hospital as a precaution, with another younger woman treated by ambulance crews at the scene.

Ambulance, fire and police were called to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 4.37pm saying that a car had been in a collision with the front of the shop.

A cordon was put in place and shattered glass remained on the pavement for several hours after the incident at Arlo & Jacob, which also has shops in Fulham, Harrogate, Marlow and Islington.

The dark-coloured Tesla appears to have entered through the front door of the shop, with fire crews erecting a metal jack to hold up part of the ceiling.
