The Bristol twins with almost half a million followers on TikTok

By Ian Downs  Thursday Jul 1, 2021

Bristolian twins Raul and Jacob Gibson, aka the Blud Brothers, have firmly staked their claim on one of TikTok’s most popular trends: dancing.

Along with pranks and regular Q&As, public raving is their thing.

And they have built up a global fanbase as the Blud Brothers, with more than 475,000 followers on TikTok at the last count.

“People just loved it,” Raul told the Bristol24/7 Behind the Headlines podcast when talking about how they got started on the social media platform.

“Public raving is quite unique. We started doing it in shops like Asda and Tesco, we could keep doing the content in different locations, even petrol stations.

“People just look at us and think, ‘what are those guys doing?’. Some laugh and react and some even have a little dance in the background.”

Listen to more from the Blud Brothers in the latest Behind the Headlines podcast:

There is no doubt their content is distinctive; the incessantly upbeat songs accompany the brothers’ high energy dance moves with some of Bristol’s most famous landmarks as their backdrop.

“Bristol is a vibe you know, the people as well, we love them, we’ve never had a problem out in public,” says Jacob.

“The backgrounds in Bristol just really suit our vibe. The graffiti, the Suspension Bridge, the Downs. There’s so many parts of the city we can use to our advantage. We’ve gone all around the city filming our content.”

The dream for Raul and Jacob is for this to become their fulltime job, which will allow them to travel the world making content.

They are also both talented musicians and are in the process of launching their music careers alongside their social media antics.

So, if you ever happen to see two lads with cones on their heads raving to Flo Rida, go and say hi; it may well be the Blud Brothers filming their latest TikTok video in their continuing bid for social media superstardom.
