The Great Singapore pop-up experience
To celebrate the launch of the Great Singapore Airlines’ Getaway campaign, Singapore Airlines and Singapore Tourism Board are bringing a piece of South East Asia to Bristol. For those that want to experience a #TasteofSingapore, head down to the centre of Broadmead on the 15th of September for an experience that will make you want to visit the real thing.
Visitors or passers-by can enjoy delicious Singaporean cuisine created by renowned Chef Anthony Yeoh, meet the famous Singapore Girls cabin crew and enjoy the in-flight and destination back drops in the fun photo booth.
The dish of the day will be Roti Jala, a popular dinner snack served with curry. Roti Jala, meaning ‘net bread’ symbolises the cultural threads that tie the multicultural Singapore together – the delicate, lace-like pancakes are soft and perfect for dipping in your favourite curry recipe. There is no one better to create this traditional Singaporean plate than Chef Anthony Yeoh, visiting the UK especially to introduce the Roti Jala. Inspired at a young age by his grandmother’s home cooking Chef Yeoh has gone on to train professionally and is now head chef at Cocotte restaurant in Singapore.
