The Tunnels

By Bristol24/7  Monday Oct 20, 2014

Two unassuming railway arches under Temple Meads Station’s sloping approach road, reimagined as a bar, club and live music venue. Last time your correspondent ventured in was for an AC/DC tribute band, who strutted and howled their way through every song the brothers Young ever wrote – exhausting but impressive. The vaulted ceiling and low lighting add to the subterranean atmosphere, and, unlike at some of Bristol’s gig venues, the over-30s can feel well at home here: recent sell-out nights include a Madness tribute and an 80s night, also upcoming are cover-version combos of Dire Staits, The Who and UB40.
