Thousands attend climate march coinciding with Cop26
Trade union banners were held aloft alongside handpainted placards, babies were pushed in prams behind dancing women in wedding dresses, and dogs trotted along next to cyclists wearing wolf hats.
Not many recent protests in Bristol have been as colourful as the one taking place on Saturday to coincide with COP26.
Thousands of people gathered on College Green for speeches from people including deputy mayor Asher Craig, shadow cabinet member Lily Fitzgibbon and campaigner Faisa Mahamud, before the march made its way around the city centre soundtracked by musicians and chanting.

The event was part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice which saw demonstrations across the world to coincide with the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow.
The “decentralised mass mobilisations” across the world are bringing together movements “to build power for system change”.
