By Mia Vines Booth  Friday Sep 22, 2023

Tickets are now available for this year’s TedxBristol festival.

The event will take place on the historically renowned SS Great Britain on November 18, in what will be the first TedXBristol since 2019.

This year’s line-up of 18 individuals from Bristol and beyond will bring some of the most important and cutting-edge ideas to Bristol, in the hopes of bringing their ideas on how to create a better future.

Three sessions will give attendees access to six talks, as well as full access to tour the SS Great Britain and its museums.

Jen Reid, the activist, educator and author who stood atop the empty Edward Colston statue and gave the Black Power salute, will be speaking at the event.

She’ll be speaking alongside Carlos Ayala, a skilled Bristol-based sustainable chocolate maker, and Neil Morris, whose company is harnessing the properties of seaweed to create marine-safe low -carbon bioplastic packaging.

Bristol writer, social entrepreneur, lecturer, and activist, Roger Griffith MBE, will also be speaking about diversity and decolonising the curriculum, alongside Rosina Al’Shaater, an advocate for changing negative perceptions around female facial hair and celebrating women as they are.

Speaking about the festival, Paul Wiseall, the creative director of TedxBristol, said: “This is an important event that celebrates the best of Bristol and its people which is why we’re proud to showcase 18 incredible speakers who we believe will change the way you look at your work.”

Tickets go live on Friday, September 22, and can be purchased from the TedXBristol website.
