Tributes have been paid from across the world of music and beyond for DJ Derek.

Police believe human remains discovered near Cribbs Causeway belong to the missing 73-year-old.

Here are just a few of the tributes, including this musical farewell from Portishead’s Geoff Barrow:

Fellow DJ Rob Da Bank tweeted: “There should definitely be a national day of mourning in his beloved Wetherspoons-I think he’d visited and drank in all of them! In fact every time I booked DJ Derek I had to phone his landline (no email) and talk through which bus route he’d take to get there so he could visit a newly opened Wetherspoons en route. Those phone calls were some of the most charming interactions I’ve ever had with a DJ!”
