Two bailed after man found dead in Clifton

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Sep 1, 2015

Two people arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run in Clifton have been bailed.

The body of a 25-year-old man was found outside The Richmond pub on Gordon Road early on Saturday morning with “multiple injuries consistent with being involved in a road traffic collision”.

Police said they were looking for a vehicle shortly after his body was found at 6.45am near the students’ union.

The 25-year-old victim has been named as Dan Hickey

A 39-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and have now been bailed until September 9.

A car was later recovered in Bristol which police believe is linked to the incident and  will now undergo a “full forensic examination”.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Sunday confirming the man died of injuries sustained in a collision with a car, but a formal identification procedure is yet to take place.

Police believe the collision happened between 4.30am and 5.30am on Saturday.
