Virtual Balloon Fiesta nightglow to take place
A socially distanced version of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta kicked off on Monday morning with a Fiesta Flypast.
Following the sight of more than 40 hot air balloons floating over Long Ashton, Fiesta organisers have announced that a Virtual Nightglow will take place on Saturday evening.
A dozen hot air balloons and their crews will take part in the event, which will be broadcast on BBC Bristol and the Fiesta’s social media channels.

Presented by BBC Bristol presenter Emma Britton, the event will feature a specially curated soundtrack, with the glowing balloons accompanied with special effects and a light show.
Chris Allcock, chair of the Bristol International Balloon Festival hopes that, even though the event will be closed to the public, the nightglow will bring “a bit of fiesta magic” to homes across the city.
The virtual nightglow will take place on Saturday, August 8 at 9pm. For more information, follow the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on @bristolballoon
