Vote to bring Slide to your part of town
Since their Bristol launch on July 29, Slide Bristol has provided 10,000 miles of journeys around the city, taking commuters out of their cars and into the new shared-to-ride service. The service responds directly to local travel needs by asking people to vote for the areas that they would like to see Slide operating in – via their website (see link below). By optimising shared rides, and using convenient pick up points, Slide offers the comfort of a taxi but at a much lower cost.
Tim Jackson, their CEO, says: “We are delighted that people in Bristol have taken to Slide Bristol. It brings yet another alternative means of getting around the city at peak commuter times, helping to reduce congestion caused by the sheer number of individual car drivers trying to get around. The response we’ve had so far suggests that it seems to be a welcome addition alongside the existing buses and trains currently operating here.”
In the last week, following votes from city commuters, Slide has announced the introduction of four core new routes: Westbury-on-Trym in West Bristol, Fishponds and Frenchay in East Bristol, and Bedminster and Southville in South Bristol. Overall, the service has seen a 60% growth in the number of users every week in September.
is needed now More than ever
Slide is still asking potential passengers to vote for the routes they would like to see the service operating in, to help them decide which areas should be next. You can vote at slidebristol.com/vote.
