Wake The Tiger expansion plans confirmed for February 2024

By Emily Brewster  Monday Dec 4, 2023

The team behind Wake The Tiger promise their new expansion plans will “bring a beautiful journey of self-discovery and joy” to the attraction.

The new dimension to the venue dubbed “the world’s first amazement park” will open with additional rooms, installations and areas on Friday, February 2. This date was specially chosen as it is an “angel number” that is symbolic of new beginnings to mark the changes made to the site on Albert Road in St Philip’s.

The experience was created to “highlight the issues, provoke ideas and suggest alternative paths that gives hope for our future”, exploring a world almost completely depleted of its natural resources, as the creators fear happening in the real world.

Since it first opened in summer 2022, more than 250,000 visitors have ventured through the immersive experience.

The “whole new dimension” will add to the alternate, fantasy world of Meridia, where Wake The Tiger situates itself. The new year will also bring the introduction of annual memberships and gift vouchers.

Luke Mitchell, creative director at Wake The Tiger, said: “The new expansion will be a beautiful journey of self-discovery and joy, challenging you to look beyond your own limits and explore alternative ways of thinking, living and thriving.

“It is possible to slide back to The Dream Factory, but how this is done is down to the journey your mind chooses to take. Can the alternate world of Meridia finally be saved?”

Wake The Tiger is inviting visitors to ‘Moonfrost season’ in Meridia in the run-up to Christmas, with four new trails to explore and adults-only ‘Festive After Hours’ of the walk-through experience whilst the expansion is underway.
