Warmer evenings got you craving an alfresco feast?

By Bristol24/7  Thursday May 25, 2023

Let’s pretend for a minute that we’re not counting the days until summer arrives. After what feels like one of the longest winters of all time, the evenings are getting lighter, hay fever is back, and we’re starting to plan the perfect food to enjoy outdoors.

Already named one of the world’s best dining destinations (and top in the UK), you’ll know Bristol has got some of the best restaurants to see us through the warmer months. But here’s the catch: how on earth do you choose?

Fear not, Deliveroo and Upfest have got the answer.

Deliveroo and Upfest: Taking you to new tasty destinations

In a bid to pay tribute to Bristol’s vibrant independent food scene, Deliveroo has joined forces with Upfest, the organisation behind Europe’s biggest Street Art Festival. Together, they have infused the city with artwork inspired by ten of Bristol’s best indy restaurants.

As part of this, a vibrant mural has been created on Wine Street as well as artwork dotted around the city, have you seen it yet?

May 2nd 2023 – Deliveroo has unveiled a brand-new mural in the centre of Bristol to celebrate the city’s independent culinary delights. In partnership with Upfest, Deliveroo has commissioned graffiti artist Silent Hobo to create the large-scale piece of artwork on Wine Street to pay tribute to Bristol’s local food.

In this series, we’re highlighting the wonderful fusion of art and food, as well as the variety of Bristol independent restaurants available on Deliveroo.

Next in line is Koh Thai, offering a vibrant and explosive taste of Thailand.

Flavour at its finest: Koh Thai

If you’re seeking distinctive, summery dishes, then look no further than Koh Thai.

Available exclusively through Deliveroo, Koh Thai has been popular in Bristol for nearly 10 years. It’s no surprise! Considering the delightful range of aromatic dishes from Thailand and authentic menu, Koh Thai brings a taste of summer – ideal as the warmer days approach us.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrant street food of Bangkok and the serene Southern Island of Phuket, the chefs skilfully infuse these flavours into every dish. From traditional Thai curries to aromatic stir- fries and salads, there’s plenty on offer. One of their main attractions is the Pad Thai Meal Deal, which comes with three scrumptious chicken satays and peanut dipping sauce.

Unveiling the creative behind the artwork: Marta Zubieta

Marta Zubieta, a Bristol-based Spanish muralist and illustrator, is a creative force to be reckoned with. With a strong penchant for surrealism, 90s cartoons, sci-fi, and Latin folklore, Marta’s artwork celebrates both characters and social realities.

Marta says her Koh Thai artwork ‘draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Thai culture and religion’. The vibrant and intense colours take centre stage, while capturing the essence of aromatic ingredients and spices that define Thai cuisine. The piece serves as a portal to a world where Thai traditions and flavours come alive, inviting viewers to embark on a visual feast that transcends art.

Have you come across Marta’s vibrant artwork showcasing the mouthwatering delights of Koh Thai? These colourful pieces can be spotted throughout the city!
