Primary pupils star in ‘We Will Rock You’ music video
A Bristol primary school parent has enlisted the help of pupils and the headteacher to make a music video to We Will Rock You by Queen.
Rupert Ward-Lewis, a Bristol filmmaker and local parent, had a few days in between filming jobs and decided to offer to do something fun with the children at Hillcrest Primary School before Christmas.
After going through a selection of festive songs with the children, they decided they wanted to record a number inspired by the 2004 film, School of Rock.
is needed now More than ever
Rupert worked with the pupils from the Totterdown school on the production side of the film as well as having them perform in it.
He showed them everything from how lighting effected scenes to how different angles on things were needed to cut a scene together.
“I wanted the kids to get a flavour of how to make something from scratch,” said Rupert.
“The kids embraced it with such enthusiasm, and loved seeing their much admired deputy headteacher Mr Mcintyre perform.”
The school’s headteacher Mrs Norman is also hiding behind a famous costume in the video.
