The Watershed’s a many-headed beast: a buzzing bar and eatery, a three-screen art cinema with an exceptionally thoughtful booking policy, a hub for several cerebral media and filmic festivals, and a hothouse for digital innovation and creativity. They “curate ideas, spaces and talent to enable artistic visions and creative collaborations to flourish”, producing work that “cuts across film, music, theatre, design, visual art, and the creative and technology sectors.” Host to film festivals including Encounters (short films), Wildscreen (natural history), Afrika Eye (African-interest) and co-host to the ongoing Festival of Ideas. In short, Watershed is a wonderful place, and one of the truly unique and inspirational success stories that should make you proud to be Bristolian.
