What would every area of Bristol do if they were people at a house party?

A Reddit post has provoked some hilarious responses after asking a question about Bristol.

A user asked: “Every area of Bristol is a person at a house party. What is each person doing?”

The post has garnered more than 100 upvotes, with the top-rated comment being: “Bradley Stoke turned up, nobody bothered to speak to him and he left quietly without saying goodbye.”

There are more than 200 comments in total, many of which draw on the stereotypes people have about different parts of the city.

Stokes Croft is preaching political and ethical theory to anyone too wasted to move, while eating a faux-loumi kebab,” said one user.

Easton is wearing a yellow beanie while complaining about gentrification,” added another.

St George cycled in and won’t stop complaining about the cycle back home,” quipped a third. “Ends up getting an Uber and sheepishly picking up their bike on Monday.”

Some of the most popular comments are those that refer to drug use.

St Werburgh’s is sniffing ket and doing an interpretive dance.”

Montpelier is skinning up in the kitchen.”

Clifton didn’t go. It had its own party, invitation only. Wine tasting and cocaine.”

Almost every area of Bristol has been mentioned in the comments.

Southville couldn’t find a babysitter for young Percy, Mia and Nigella in time so stayed home.”

Filton is having a pretty average time because they’re the only one who recognised Patchway and Bradley Stoke when they arrived.”

Totterdown is telling everyone how classy they are and then smokes a rollie with Bedminster outside.”

Kingswood was having pre drinks and ended up going to Chasers instead.”

Fishponds is pissing in your bathroom sink, even though the toilet’s free.”

St Andrew’s has just finished telling everyone about their holiday house in the Dordogne, and is now showing people their Labour Party membership card.”

St Anne’s is floating around the lounge trying to join a conversation. No one’s sure who she is. Her mate Brislington invited her as she doesn’t get out much.”

Knowle turned up early, but left quietly when Knowle West arrived.” To which someone replied: “But only after explaining the difference to everyone.”

And even Bristol’s neighbour gets a mention: “Bath is next door complaining about the noise.”
