Window Wanderland comes to St Paul’s
The clocks are about to go forward, the daffodils are in bloom, spring is here.
The residents of St. Paul’s have created an artistic trail to follow to welcome in the new season.
On Friday, March 26 & Saturday March 27, between 6.30pm and 9pm, St Paul’s Window Wanderland will be live on an interactive map to celebrate the end of winter.
is needed now More than ever
The trail is made up of decorated windows in the St Paul’s neighbourhood and is being supported by Imayla, Bristol Refugee Festival, Full Circle and St Paul’s Adventure Playground.
One window on the trail will be that of Malcolm X Community Centre, these windows will be decorated by the founder of and one of those featured on the Seven Saints of St Paul’s murals, Barbara Dettering.
The Window Wanderland in St Paul’s is part of a national project where neighbourhoods up and down the country are making similar trails.
Anything creative can be made into a window display; a string of fairy lights, a homemade poster or even a puppet show. The organisers have created online support videos to help residents get creative.

Their Facebook page is being populated with designs that the residents have already made, including a savannah sunset scene made from tissue paper, a game of connect four and a stencilled Bob Marley.
Window Wanderland hopes to be an inclusive project that will let a community be creative together, in a Covid-19 safe way.
The Children’s Scrapstore in St Werburgh’s are offering discounts on arts and crafts equipment to households taking part.
One St Paul’s resident says: “Let the windows of your home become the windows to your ethos and mantra as we all come to terms with 2020 and prepare ourselves for 2021.”
