Woman punched off her bike in Hengrove

A woman was punched off her bicycle in an attack in Hengrove on Tuesday.

Police are appealing for the help of witnesses who appeared to slow down in the cars and sound their horns as the incident happened.

The woman was assaulted at about 2.20pm at the junction of Wharnecliffe Gardens and a lane leading to Gilda Close.

“The woman was riding her bicycle when she was stopped by a man who then punched her causing her to fall to the pavement,” a police spokesperson said.

“Two vehicles are believed to have slowed down and sounded their horns as the incident took place while a man walking on the pavement also stopped to help the victim.

“We’re now keen to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or who has any Information about it.”
