World’s first ‘amazement park’ to open in Bristol
A secret site in Bristol is set to become the world’s first ‘amazement park’, blurring the lines between an art gallery, theme park and film set.
The team behind Boomtown Fair promise that Wake the Tiger will be a “unique world that will never finish evolving, of creativity, discovery and play”.
It is from a team of storytellers, poets, scenic artists, robotics experts, fabricators, costume makers, architects, videographers and prop makers.
is needed now More than ever
Set to open in the summer, Wake the Tiger “encompasses interactive environments and daring new experiences… it blurs the lines between an art gallery, theme park and film set, with a playful psychedelic twist throughout”
The site may remain a secret, but the Boomtown team already own a 3,500-capacity former warehouse on Albert Road in St Philip’s Marsh which opened in 2019 as Area 404.

Wake The Tiger founder Graham MacVoy said: “This project is two years in the making and the result of decades of creative input from some of the best technologists, storytellers and creative minds working across festivals and attractions in the UK.
“We are starting this new movement in our spiritual home of Bristol and can’t wait to be open this summer.”
MacVoy and his team have already secured more than £1.5m of seed investment for Wake The Tiger, with a crowdfunder hoping to secure an additional £350,000 to help launch Bristol’s newest and most ambitious tourist attraction for some years.
