10 Questions: Katie & Kim
Katie & Kim’s Kitchen has swiftly become a Bristol institution. Scotland-born Katie Houston and Kim Glegg met at art school and first started cooking out of a converted horse box on Stokes Croft, winning the top prize at the British Street Food Awards before moving to permanent premises on Picton Street in Montpelier in 2014.
Here are Kim’s answers to our monthly 10 Questions feature:
1. What was your earliest ambition?
Red Arrow pilot for me. Katie probably wanted to do something on a stage or anything where people were looking at her.

Very.
3. If you were the mayor of Bristol for the day what would you do?
Make a pedal-powered sky train (it stores energy so you don’t have to pedal faster to get up hills)
4. Where is your favourite holiday destination?
Still looking
5. What is your biggest extravagance?
Our oven
6. In what place in Bristol are you happiest?
On top of a hill somewhere with a view. Failing that, Hart’s Bakery.
7. What ambitions do you still have?
There’s none left to achieve
8. What is the greatest achievement of your life so far?
We’re still breathing
9. Can you sum up Bristol in a sentence?
Damp
10. What’s your favourite secret spot in Bristol?
1 Ninetree Hill
