These are Angus’ top-five Bristol favourites:
The Piano Bar
is needed now More than ever

A Secret Cabaret show at the Piano Bar
“The Piano Bar at Bristol Hippodrome was one of the first bars I visited in Bristol. I love the elegance and the atmosphere. It’s particularly lovely when a pianist is playing for the audience as they gather for a show in the main theatre. I thought it would make a great cabaret venue and we now hold The Secret Cabaret there every month. It’s great fun for anyone who loves musical theatre and show tunes.”
Clifton Suspension Bridge

“It’s so inspiring to stand in the middle of the Suspension Bridge and take in the view. It has an interesting history too. Did you know that the chains were from the original Hungerford Bridge in London, which was demolished to make way for Charing Cross station? Funding issues also mean that, if you look closely, the towers are asymmetrical.”
The Old Market Assembly & Wardrobe Theatre

“There’s always such a creative and fun buzz at The Old Market Assembly. The menu is great and they bake their own delicious bread. I’ve seen some great shows in the Wardrobe Theatre here too. I love the improvisation shows put on by Degrees of Error, who always provide a hilarious night of entertainment.”
Hyde & Co

“Walking into this dimly-lit speakeasy is like stepping back in time to 1920s Chicago. The cocktails at Hyde & Co are amazing, the bar staff are all skilled mixologists, and there are always beautiful people amongst the clientele.”
Shop 3 Bistro

“I’ve recently found Shop 3 Bistro in Clifton Village, a gorgeous restaurant serving locally sourced and rustic dishes. There are lots of lovely quirky little touches to the décor and presentation. It’s a real hidden gem and I’m definitely going to be a regular visitor.”
