Here are Barbara’s top-five Bristol favourites:
is needed now More than ever
The Fleece

“I’ve seen so many amazing bands at The Fleece. The atmosphere is always great and I love that you can get right up to the stage without barriers. You get a real connection with the performers and the music. It comes under threat from time to time but thankfully keeps on going. I couldn’t imagine Bristol without its Fleece.”
Gloucester Road

“What can I say? For me, Gloucester Road is all about the fresh fruit and veg, great coffee, and so many types of food. See a pattern? I know it’s been said so many times that it’s a hub of independent shops, but it really is. A real gem of a high street. And all those independent traders selling their creations too. Brilliant.”
Wild Place

“Every time I visit Wild Place, I see something new. It’s constantly growing and evolving. The grounds are great for exploring and the animals are always good for a photo op, although the wolves are a challenge! And the children love going too.”
Yoga
“My weekly treat for myself is going to Yogafurie on Ashley Down Road for Yoga Nidra. It’s so relaxing and always gets me a good night’s sleep afterwards. A good start to my week.”
Walking around Bristol

“I love Bristol. I have lived here for 20 years and never tire of walking through the city, especially as a photographer. The people, the streets and of course the waterfront. Among all the boats I’ve recently spotted a sister vessel to my photographic model Sabrina 5. It’s a small world! Sabrina 6 is the club house for the Bristol Cruising Club at Redcliffe Backs. It’s always exciting to take a different turn somewhere and find a view you never knew was there before. I did this recently at the Riverside Garden Centre, looking across to Cliftonwood. Awesome!”
