Hamilton House

“In my opinion, Hamilton House is one of Bristol’s most important buildings. Managed by Coexist over the past 10 years, it has grown to become the heart of Stokes Croft. It welcomes a hugely diverse group of people, from small businesses and creative freelancers, to charities and community support groups, well-being and dance groups. I worked from my shared studio in Hamilton House for over six years, with many other freelance illustrators, designers, animators and filmmakers. It has such a supportive and inspiring atmosphere. I feel lucky to have worked there.”

Leigh Woods

“This woodland is right on our doorstep, and often my immediate place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s easy to get to, and easy to find a peaceful spot amongst the trees. The bluebells are treat in the spring, and the smell of trees is gorgeous after the rain.

The Bristol & Bath Railway Path

“As a keen cyclist, I have cycled this route to and from Bath many times with friends. Dotted with great cafes and pubs, and through some idyllic countryside, I think we are lucky to have a such a gorgeous traffic-free route, and I love seeing families and friends out on the weekend.”

The Old Duke

The Old Duke on King Street is simply one of my favourite pubs, and an iconic part of Bristol. The music is always great, as is the company. Either dancing inside on a cold night, or sitting outside on a sunny summer’s day with a pint of cider.”

Playfull Toyshop

“Owned and managed by Kerstin and Nigel Price, Playfull Toyshop on Gloucester Road is Bristol’s best independent toy and bookshop. They sell the most gorgeous selection toys and children’s books from Bristol and across the UK and Europe. It’s a wonderland!”
