My Bristol Favourites: Phil Adkins
Phil Adkins is the race director of the Bristol Grand Prix, which returns to the streets of Bristol on Sunday, July 8 – followed by the family friendly Let’s Ride event.
Here are Phil’s top-five Bristol favourites:
Watershed
is needed now More than ever
“It’s great to have an independent cinema in the heart of the city. They have a great, varied programme and I’ve particularly enjoyed their Cycle Screen festival.”
Harbourside
“Walking around the harbourside is one of my favourite things to do in Bristol. There are so many historic places to go and catching the ferry across to the SS Great Britain is a small part of being involved in Bristol’s maritime heritage!”
The Downs
“The Downs are on my walk home from work and are a fantastic peaceful break from the hectic city.”
Bristol’s cycling community
“Cyclists in this city are friendly, welcoming and supportive. You’ll always meet someone you know when you’re out on your bike, from Ashton Court to south Wales. We have some of the best riding in the UK, it’s no surprise that there is such a strong cycling community here in Bristol.”
Hopper Coffee
“Coffee served from a tuk-tuk in Greville Smyth Park, with locally made cakes and good chat as well.”
