“The focus of my talk will be a first-hand account,” Steve told Bristol24/7. “It will include the good, the bad, and the ugly of becoming an astronaut.”

The event is being hosted by Pint of Science, a volunteer-run organisation who aim to make science accessible to the public, and The International Space School Educational Trust.
“I hope to inspire people by showing them how wonderful a space mission is,” Steve added. “Even a mediocre person like me can get a dream job through perseverance and always trying to improve.”
Steve Swanson will be talking at the University of Bristol’s Priory Road Complex Lecture Theatre on Thursday, November 22. For tickets and more information, visit www,pintofscience.co.uk/event/astronaut-tour—bristol.
