By Mia Vines Booth  Thursday Aug 4, 2022

Adda Cohn is co-owner and creative director at Dareshack.

The multi-purpose establishment on Wine Street combines a passion for coffee with creative experiences and events.

Dareshack also recently launched a new platform that allocates a percentage of coffee sales into creative projects from the local community.

These are Adda’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Saffron

“I recently did a sound engineering course with Saffron and really enjoyed it. Knowledge is everything, and it’s great to have an organisation making it available to women, non-binary, and other minority genders who occupy less than five per cent of the music tech industry.”

Pervasive Media Studio lunchtime talks at Watershed

“Every Friday at Watershed during lunchtime, there are talks around different subjects and themes. Hosted by very interesting creatives, it’s a great opportunity to meet and chat with new people.”

Tia Julia

“I’ve been going to Tia Julia when they are on Wine Street twice a week for almost three years, and every time is exactly the same, delicious! Now that they opened a new location, I’m controlling myself to not go there every day.”

Woonoos

“When I see the green Woonoos Thai food truck on the corner of Queen Square, I instantly smile! Their Pad Thai is a winner and you can tell that everything is very fresh.”

The window seat at Dareshack

“I spend most of my time at Dareshack, and on show days, I love sitting by the window overlooking Wine Street while I drink my coffee with soundcheck in the background. It’s a great people-watching spot!”
