My Bristol Favourites: Chante Joseph
Chanté Joseph is chair of Bristol University’s student union council and president of their African & Caribbean Association. She also writes for Gal-Dem, an online magazine celebrating women of colour, and recently took part in their takeover of the V&A Museum in London where she was a panellist.
Here are Chanté’s top-five Bristol favourites:
Bristol’s black history
is needed now More than ever
“I love that Bristol has a long black history that it doesn#t shy away from and Black History Month is extensively covered.”
Walking distance
“In Bristol nothing is ever too far. I’m very lazy and I enjoy that fact that nothing is ever more than a 20 minute walk or a 15 minute bus ride.”
Friendliness
“I love that everyone here is so open to new ideas and creating things. It is such a supportive atmosphere and I feel like it is a city of opportunity.”
Everyone knows everyone
“You are always one degree of separation from anyone in Bristol and it makes networking super easy.”
Caribbean food places
“Bristol is literally my home away from home because of all the yummy affordable Caribbean restaurants!”
