My Bristol Favourites: Dan Williams

By Martin Booth  Sunday Nov 8, 2020

Dan Williams is the owner of Coffee + Beer on Cotham Hill, a speciality coffee and craft beer shop and – in normal times – an espresso bar and tap room.

During the second lockdown, the shop is remaining open for takeaway coffees, sandwiches, cakes and retail of beans and beers, with all products also for sale via their website.

Dan also sells coffee and beer subscription services, with Coffee Club seeing fresh coffee delivered to you each month, or the choice of monthly beer boxes.

These are Dan’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Ashton Court

“Ashton Court has been a saviour for me recently. I live down that way and to have that space close by is very special, especially in these times.”

Psychopomp

“The guys at Psychopomp are great. I really like what they do, and the spirit and the values of the company. It’s quintessentially Bristol for me.”

Left Handed Giant brewpub

Left Handed Giant brewpub in Finzels Reach is a fantastic place. They have created something unique. From a beer geek’s perspective, it’s something that we should be very proud of.”

Wapping Wharf

“For something that is still relatively new, Wapping Wharf already feels firmly part of Bristol. It has so many great independent traders and has hit a vibe with so many people. A few of my favourites? The guys at Little Victories are great, Squeezed is incredible and Gambas is stunning.”

Cotham Hill

“There is a really strong community spirit here. The businesses want each other to succeed. We just need to make the road safer. Safety is the most crucial aspect of any development of this road.”
