My Bristol favourites: Dino Zamparelli
Dino Zamparelli is a motor racing driver who competes in the GP3 Series, two tiers below F1. The 21-year-old is sponsored by Bristol Sport and races for ART GP. He is currently seventh in the driver standings out of 37, with his ART GP team second in the team standings with just two races to go.
Here are Dino’s top-five Bristol favourites:
The Downs
“I love this area in Bristol. It’s so vast and centrally located. I really enjoy spending a summer’s evening up here with friends and just hanging out. It’s also a great place to do exercise. I do a lot of gym work so it’s nice to be able to go for a run outside.”
is needed now More than ever
Ashton Gate Stadium
“I couldn’t leave Ashton Gate out! Since becoming part of the Bristol Sport family, I have been spending more and more time down at Ashton Gate watching football and rugby. I really enjoy the atmosphere on match days, and it gives me a buzz on a Saturday or Sunday when I’m not racing myself. With the rebuild in place, it’s exciting to know that Bristol is finally going to get a state-of-the-art stadium, which will make the city proud.”
Clifton Village
“I live in Clifton, so the village is an area that I spend a lot of time in. There are so many nice individual shops and places to eat and drink. On the weekend, it’s always quite lively, and when the sun is out, there is no better place to be in the city. Every time I walk out of my house to pop into the village I usually bump into lots of people that I know. So that quick coffee break, which was only going to take five minutes, ends up taking me half an hour! It makes you really feel like you are part of a community. I love it!”
Caffe Nero
“I reckon I should have shares in Clifton’s Caffe Nero with the amount of coffee I’ve bought in there! Well perhaps not to that extreme, but I do love a good takeaway coffee, and these guys have got my choice (vanilla latte with skimmed milk and one shot of coffee) down to an absolute tee. They are also really friendly, so as a result I spend a lot of time in meetings here!”
David Lloyd
“I don’t suppose many people would put their gym as one of their favourite picks! But doing the job I do I reckon I spend half of my week doing gym work. So it’s lucky that David Lloyd in Long Ashton is one of my favourite places to be! Lots of my friends go here and the social aspect of the club is really good. It also has absolutely everything I need to stay fit and on top form for my racing. I can play tennis and squash with my friends in the evening, whilst still training flat out in the day time. It’s perfect.”
