is needed now More than ever
Playground

Playground in the Old City is well known for having swings as seats in its window – photo: Playground
“Playground is one of my go-to places whenever I fancy a coffee with a friend. With the lively bustle of St Nick’s market surrounding the journey there, it is the perfect place for an exciting coffee. The St Nicholas Street cafe is filled to the brim with hundreds of different board games, cards and puzzles. Who doesn’t love a delicious coffee and a game; not to mention they have swings for chairs!”
Old Market Assembly

Emily loves the Old Market Assembly for its “incredible nightlife” – photo: Old Market Assembly
“I may be biassed because I used to work at the Old Market Assembly, but I love the way the staff are so bubbly and warming to everyone they meet, the way the food is delicious and always perfect, and the way the mood completely changes once night arrives. The relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant shifts to a scene of incredible nightlife with a variety of acts every day.”

“2020 was a rough year for everyone so my local open space was a little safe haven for me and my brother. With the lovely view of the bustling city life beyond, not to mention the wildlife that surrounds it, Sockwood Open Space is a lovely breath of air five just five minutes down the road from my house.”
Purdown

“This former Second World War anti-aircraft gun battery provides a stunning view of Bristol with the amazing addition of a herd of goats. The goats wander around and are as incredibly friendly as dogs. With breathtaking views and amusing goats roaming the grounds, Purdown is a place which I love.”
Art Club

Art Club is Bristol’s first Independent department store and event venue – photo: Martin Booth
“Art Club is a place on Bond Street with a lovely cafe, hairdressers and the coolest fashion. It has become a new favourite shop of mine as it not only has all of those amazing features but also has become an exciting spot to watch local Bristol acts doing exclusive performances.”
