My Bristol Favourites: Georgia Hussey
Georgia Hussey is founder of Loki Poké, a food business based in Wapping Wharf selling Hawaiian-inspired street food.
Starting out as a lockdown project after living on Sydney’s northern beaches where poké bowls are a delicacy, Georgia opened Loki Poké first in St Philips and then launched a ‘mini poké bar’ in one of the converted shipping containers of Cargo 2.
Georgia and Loki Poké have recently been chosen as finalists for Street Food Entrepreneur of the Year from the Food and Drinks Heroes.

Here are Georgia’s top-five Bristol favourites:
The Cider Box Tap Room

“This little gem is round the corner from Loki Poké’s prep kitchen and HQ, so we had a staff party here a few months ago. It’s in an old railway arch on the tiniest little street, surrounded by warehouses, so it was great for a hospitality Monday lock in. They have a table tennis table, a fire pit, and street food traders park up outside on the weekends sometimes which is a lovely vibe. Cider Box are also our neighbours at Wapping Wharf as well so we’re big fans.”
Eden Cafe

“Eden Cafe is my go to spot to grab a coffee for a walk around the Downs, but also really worth stopping in: the decor and vibe is very Sydney brunch spot, and Rosie who runs it with her husband, is so lovely. I took my laptop in there to work a while back and we got chatting, and we’ve since teamed up to sell their amazing brownies from our Wapping Wharf site.”
The Wave

“Another little piece of Sydney in the West Country! The Wave is a 20 minute drive from Loki Poké HQ so I’ve done a cheeky post-work surf before, and I swear it’s always sunny when I go here. It’s a lovely spot to hang out at too; there’s a nice cafe and spectator seating. We’re planning a little Loki Poké summer residency there this August, so come grab a bowl after your surf!”
Pizza is Lovely

“The work that goes into these pizzas is mad. Pizza is Lovely is run from the kitchen of The Orchard Inn (which is a perfect strolling distance from our Cargo takeaway, so it’s a regular for a post work pint). They make Detroit style pizza with insane veggie and vegan toppings. You pre order and then pick up from the kitchen door round the corner from the pub at your allotted time, and then take your pizza box round to The Orchard, which itself is such a classic Bristol cider pub. I have their Dogs of The Orchard calendar, and my dream is that one day my dog Pepper will make it in there.”
Brozen

“We’ve done some events with these guys so I’ve met the bros, and I don’t think I’ve ever chatted to a bunch of people more nerdy about booze. Brozen make hands down the best margarita I’ve ever had, but they’re known for their liquid nitrogen-frozen cocktails: so you can get pissed from eating ice cream. They have a bar in St Nicks, where you can watch the magic liquid nitrogen in action and if you’re lucky have a nerdy chat about drinks, plus some nice outside seating which is lush in the summer.”
