is needed now More than ever
Conham River Park

“Out of all the hobbies we collectively picked up over lockdown only to let go when ‘normal life’ returned, visiting this swimming spot every Friday morning stayed well and truly put. A perfect way to debrief the week by jumping in a cool river with friends, followed by a thermos of hot coffee and a quick visit to the Bristol Loaf in Redfield. My favourite thing about doing this year-round is taking time to notice the natural changes from season to season.”
Gloucester Road Books

“Gloucester Road Books is my absolute favorite bookshop ever. For Christmas, my wife Maria and I literally just got each other vouchers for this bookshop. It’s the kind of place that will motivate you to read books even if you’re not much of a bookworm. It’s also worth taking note of that fresh new book smell you get when entering. The staff are friendly and always have good recommendations.
Collector Cave

“Vinyl is very much alive and well in Bristol and the best place to browse, listen and chat music is at Collector Cave with Ben, Guy and their knowledgeable staff. After the Vintage Market had to shut its doors on Stokes Croft, they relocated to 184 Cheltenham Road into what used to be a kitchen for a pub and have a great setup that’s definitely worth a visit.”
Ruby Hue

“I now make a regular visit to this tiny wee nook behind Left Handed Giant in Finzels Reach anytime I go for a walk around the harbour. The team at Ruby Hue is bringing the level of care and expertise to chocolate that the specialty coffee industry did to a cup of joe. But don’t worry, there is no snobbery here, you can still get marshmallows and a decent (indulgent even) chocolate brownie.”
Bluescreen at the Cube
“I’ve been to Bluescreen at the Cube a punter as well as a filmmaker showcasing one of my own films at this bi-monthly event. This is a great and pretty wild night out. Every second month a call-out is made for filmmakers of all different calibers to submit their work. The result is a magnificent mish-mash of films. Some conventional and straight, others wildly experimental and non-linear. It’s really anyone’s guess as to how the night will unfold but from my experience, it’s an extremely positive and encouraging space to see emerging work and ideas and a whole lot of fun. Also a good selection of drinks at the bar and of course a cheap cuppa.”
