My Bristol Favourites: Jeremy Flynn
Jeremy Flynn is a Bristol comic who has been performing mix of observations, anecdotes and gags since 2015.
He reached the semi finals of So You Think You’re Funny, a prestigious annual stand-up comedy competition for new acts, soon after entering the world of comedy; and in 2019 was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.
This month, he will be taking part in Belly Laughs, a series of comedy gigs in restaurants across Bristol raising money for the Julian Trust.

Here are Jeremy’s top-five Bristol favourites:
Rosemarino

“There’s a lot of talk flying around about the best breakfast in Bristol, so let me clear this up once and for all. It’s Rosemarino. Others are good but this will always sit in the number one spot. The evening menu is also first class but if you’re a breakfast hunter, look no further.”
King Street

“This is a bit of a cheat to get numerous places in one nomination but with its cobbled street and 17th century vibe, King Street is host to some of the best places in Bristol: Renato’s, Royal Navy Volunteer, the Old Duke and Small Bar (which includes Wing’s Diner, best fried chicken on earth). What could be better? Oh, and the Bristol Old Vic is there too if you like your comedians the type that can fill out huge theatres… Each to their own (book me).”
The Cat & Wheel

“Sometimes in this life you find somewhere that has something you cannot explain and has an other worldliness to it: What the French would describe as an ‘I do not know what’. The Cat & Wheel on Cheltenham Road is one of those places. It’s blue, it’s fun, it has inflation-beating drinks deals, and a karaoke evening on Thursdays AND Sundays that will bring tears of joy to your eyes. Live music, sport, pool, darts, karaoke, drinks. How do you feel? The Cat & Wheel.”
20th Century Flicks

“20th Century Flicks on Christmas Steps is still the king of movie rentals. Go and browse their huge selection and get expert recommendations on every film imaginable. We hired their 12-seater cinema to watch The Jerk and it was one of the most fun evenings we’ve had in ages. Check it out.”
The White Rabbit

“Not only a first-rate pizza and beer emporium, the White Rabbit on Gordon Road in Clifton also host to the legendary Oppo comedy night. Every Wednesday for only £2, you can see the best acts around trying new stuff with a pro headliner. In the run-up to Edinburgh, we also have previews from some of the biggest names in the country, so keep your ear to the ground (or check out the Facebook page; that’s probably easier).”
