The Plough

“Okay call me biased but even had we never set foot in the kitchen here, the Plough would still be on the list as my favourite pub in Bristol. The incredible management and staff here have created a unique, quirky, community- driven Easton pub which is welcoming to all, the beer always tastes great and where you can expect the unexpected seven nights per week.”
Little French

“It’s rare to go to a restaurant and to want to order every single item on the menu but I recently had that problem at Little French in Westbury Park. Absolutely exceptional and glutenous cuisine with a drinks menu to match. It can be hard to get a table at this place so it’s exciting that they are opening a new restaurant very soon.”
Mokoko

“Mokoko have got a number of spots around Bristol and Bath but since they opened one on our doorstep in Temple Quay last year it has become my wife and my go-to spot for coffee and baked goods. The coffee is great but the bakery is on another level! The ham and cheese or hazelnut croissants and peanut butter and caramel pain au chocolat are addictive. I think we went seven days on the trot once!”
The Baffled King

“The Baffled King is a relatively new bistro in Easton which has an exceptional wine selection and serves French small plates in the evenings. But the reason it makes my list is for the life changing breakfast I had there recently. I had a ham hock eggs benedict and it was as close to perfection as a breakfast can be and very reasonably priced. This place is definitely a hidden gem and should be on every foodies’ radar.”
Street food markets

The Harbourside Market is one of Bristol’s most popular street food markets – photo: Martin Booth
“I firstly thought about naming a street food vendor in these Bristol favourites but felt it unfair to only mention one. So then I thought about mentioning one of the markets but also thought it unfair so I am mentioning them all as my fifth selection. Temple Quay, Finzels Reach and Harbourside markets run every week and some on weekends too in their various locations. They are the best place to enjoy Bristol’s incredible selection of street food traders who are some of the most innovative and hard working chefs in the industry. Honourable mentions go to Los Hermanos, Gurt Wings, Fat Rice, High Steaks, Toff’s Pasta and Big Nath’s BBQ. You can regularly find Gourmet Warriors trading at them too!”
