My Bristol Favourites: MĀDŁY

By Martin Booth  Friday Aug 11, 2023

MĀDŁY is a Paris-born and Bristol-based singer, MC and musician.

Having collaborated with worldwide producers, she delivers her project live as a four-piece band.

Her music features neo-soul with a pinch of hip hop, a sprinkle of nu-jazz, a touch of French lyricism and some improvisation.

These are MĀDŁY’s top-five Bristol favourites:

The Gallimaufry

The Gallimaufry is a bar, restaurant and music venue on Gloucester Road. I love the Galli because there is music every night of the week. It has a special place to my heart as it is kinda where my music career started, and I host a weekly hip hop jam called Family Business there on Sundays.”

La Guinguette

La Guinguette is a beautiful French restaurant on the corner of Zetland Road and Cheltenham Road. The food is authentic and delicious, the staff are very friendly, and the music is always on point. I go there every time I miss home, and I feel instantly like I’m back in Paris.”

St Andrew’s Park

“Summer standard really, all the barbecues, running dogs, card games and live jam by the lying trunk. I’m mainly a left side person, but every now and then I like the wilderness and rave feeling of the right side.”

The Grace

The Grace is a beautiful pub on Gloucester Road. Their back garden is lovely and as enjoyable during winter or summer. The food is incredible as well and the staff are fun and professional. Highly recommended for dates.”

Free House Studios

Free House Studios recording studio in St Jude’s is a relaxed and creative space I’ve recently discovered. And planning and recording a few projects there.”
