My Bristol Favourites: Megan Oliver
Megan Oliver is the co-founder of Arbor Ales, which this weekend is taking part in the East Bristol Brewery Trail. Now based in Easton, the brewery was founded by Meg and Jon Comer in 2007 and since then they have made almost 400 different beers, with their Breakfast Stout winning a gold medal in the International Beer Challenge 2013.
Here are Meg’s top-five Bristol favourites:
Brandon Hill
is needed now More than ever

Brandon Hill is Megan’s favourite part of Bristol
“I used to go there after school with friends. Now I go there with my children. With its spectacular views, it’s my favourite part of Bristol.”
Wapping Wharf

The next phase of homes at Wapping Wharf is coming soon. Visit www.wappingwharfliving.co.uk for more details
“I love to pop into Wild Beer when I’m at Wapping Wharf, as well as The Bristol Cheesemonger, Better Food and more. We have definitely got our places that we like to go, as well as the M Shed.”
St George Park

At the centre of St George Park is a lake with ducks and swans
“St George’s Park is reasonably local to our brewery. It’s quite a find when you don’t realise it’s there. Redfest, which takes place in the park, is going from strength to strength; and I also like the nearby Grounded cafe.”
Breweries

Since 2018, Arbor have been selling their beers in pint-size cans
“The selection of very good breweries is a big plus for Bristol. We all get on very well. There’s a strong community spirit and we help each other out when we can. The East Bristol Brewery Trail is just one example of that.”
Bristol Zoo
“We are members of Bristol Zoo. It’s a brilliant place. The kids love Zooropia, it’s in a fantastic location and beautifully-kept grounds.”
