These are Roisin’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Crepe & Coffee Cabin

“If I am in the mood for a decadent and delicious working lunch, then Crepe & Coffee Cabin is my first choice! No one makes better crepes or is more generous with the cheese!”

Beeses

“Is there anywhere more beautiful to sit out and enjoy a drink or some food in the sunshine than Beeses? And there is no more appropriate way to get there than up the river by boat. They hosted the best staff party for us this year, and I have a hazy recollection of celebrating my hen do there too.”

The Lazy Dog

“The older you get, the closer to home you want to be – even on a night out! Luckily, I have the best local in the world, the Lazy Dog. Amazing, friendly staff, great outdoor space, food and atmosphere.”

Underfall Yard

Since the creation of the Floating Harbour in 1809, Underfall Yard has been crucial to its operation and maintenance – photo: Martin Booth

“For me there’s nothing nicer than being by the water and my absolute favourite part of the walk is Underfall Yard – the historic heart of Bristol’s harbour. It’s amazing to see the boats out on the slip and the loving work that goes into their maintenance.”

Stoke Park

“During the first lockdown, I enjoyed daily walks in Stoke Park. As soon as we were allowed to meet with one other person outdoors, I would drag everyone I knew to meet me there. There is so much to explore and the views are just magnificent. And despite being one of the most magical green spaces in the city, it is never overcrowded!”
