These are Sadia’s top-five Bristol favourites:
Eastville Park / Snuff Mills

Snuff Mills is a wonderful wooded valley with easy riverside walks along the Frome – photo: Martin Booth
“My local park became a daily sanctuary during the pandemic. Being in nature and seeing the seasons change, reminded me that nothing is permanent. It was wonderful to see so many people, from all walks of life using and enjoying the park. I’d never seen it so full of people!”
Bristol Sweetmart

“I love talking about food, cooking and eating it! Sweetmart on St Mark’s Road in Easton is a great gem for adventurous cooks. Lots of spices and a great deli for an affordable and quick takeaway lunch. Insider tip – ask for the mixed chaat at the deli. A classic Indian street food dish; a mix of textures and flavours with a cheeky broken up samosa and plenty of tangy, tamarind chutney. YUM!”
Breaking Bread

“Breaking Bread is a brilliant collaboration between the Pony & Trap, Bianchis, Team Love, the Love Inn and the Pipe & Slippers during covid to create a pop-up restaurant, bar and events space on the Downs. Great food, great music and great vibes!”
The Plough

“Many fun memories made dancing with friends in the Plough. This Easton pub is a place where you find a truly eclectic mix of people all coming together. During the pandemic, they established a fantastic grassroots volunteer project with other local pubs, to provide fresh fruit and veg to local people in need. The epitome of Bristol’s community spirit in action! Donate at www.fundsurfer.com/crowdfund/community-care-package.”
Jamaica Street Studios

“Housing more than 30 artists, Jamaica Street Studios just off Stokes Croft is the largest artist-led studio outside of London. Each year in June, they open their doors for Open Studios – a chance for the public to have a nose inside. I love heading there with a friend to look at the spaces and processes of each artist. Gutted it’s been postponed this year, can’t wait to go next year!”
