What’s happening with Better Bristol? – April 2021
As Bristol prepares to reopen, so are our Better Bristol projects. Whilst we have remained active over lockdown, we are excited to continue our collaborative work with communities and businesses in person.
That’s why this month, we are on the hunt for a new charity we can support over the next quarter.
Last quarter, Bristol24/7 partnered with Caring in Bristol – a local homelessness charity working to support young people experiencing homelessness.
is needed now More than ever
We want to hear from charities that focus on support for young people across the city, giving a voice to marginalised communities or support environmental projects in the city.
If you know a Bristol-based charity that qualifies, you can email partnerships@bristol247.com with your chosen charity and:
- The organisation’s mission: who do you work with and what is the vision?
- What message would you like to share with our platforms?
- How will the charity and the beneficiaries benefit from the support and partnership?

Our last charity partner was Caring In Bristol.
The chosen charity will receive support through our public and business memberships in the form of a free marketing package, exposure on the Bristol24/7 platforms and collaborating with our business community.
The past month has also seen more episodes from our recently launched Queer Catch Up podcast.
Kit Million Ross and Lowie Trevena, who host the podcast, cover a roundup of the latest news in and around Bristol, across the UK and globally – covering topics from new queer spaces in the city to representation and the importance of visibility.
Kit joined the Bristol24/7 team through the Community Reporter scheme. They were hired to report hyper-local news from their home turf in Bristol, uncovering stories that mainstream media outlets might otherwise miss.
If you want to get involved, you can contact them via Twitter (@kitmillion and @lowietrevena) or email (kit@bristol247.com and lowie@bristol247.com).
Listen to the latest episode via SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube.

Lowie and Kit are hosting Bristol24/7’s new podcast; Queer Catch Up.
And lastly, Bristol24/7 is pleased to announce that we will be partnering with the Global Goals Centre and supporting their Bristol 17 campaign.
The Global Goals Centre will be the world’s first immersive Centre that brings to life the Sustainable Development Goals, creating exciting engaging experiences and tools to educate, inspire and motivate audiences to create and promote a fairer, greener future for all.
